So, I could back-date a whole load of entries and just carry on as though there had never been any interruption; but it doesn't feel - honest. Not a real blog. I set myself the challenge of summing up the last two-and-a-half months with a single image but that was so difficult! What one thing to choose? What have I been doing?
The guest-house has been fantastically busy with many visitors from all corners of the globe. I have met some truly beautiful, wonderful people who will always have a special place in my heart - I have been truly blessed with guests! You all know who you are ... so the social, functional and domestic aspects of that have kept me very busy indeed.
Then there was the garden. Big, big subject which would require a separate entry all of its own if I could muster up the strength ...
As far as drawing goes, I had to slack off it a bit to make room in my life for all these other things. It felt like for ever. When I got back into it once the guest-house season began to slow down a little and the garden stopped going mad every time it rained (which was a LOT this summer), I realised it was only a couple of months - a matter of weeks, really, since I had got my teeth into a really big drawing. I had discovered in the mean time it is actually possible to be too tired to draw! But lots of thinking, writing in my journal, and gathering ideas had been going on in the background.
So, here's my selected image: from the 25th June, work in progress, showing a piece of newspaper cut out and pinned to the work helping me to work out my next move.
