This week's six templates drawings finally came together when I noticed a theme of transformation developing. There was an idea of something passing through a process and emerging in a different state; focus returned, everything clicked into place, and the work got done.
It’s a strange old world out there right now, and at times focus has been difficult. Even things like the lockdown quiet outside enabling bird-song to be heard uninterrupted, the total absence of cars from a normally busy street and lack of aircraft sound are fascinating. I find myself standing at the window far more often these days, taking it all in. Even walking the dog is different. People are observing social distancing at the same time as being glad to see another human being, and exchanging waves and messages of cheer with complete strangers has become the new norm, replacing the usual British reserve. I really admire the spirit of people who bring good from bad, and the applause for the NHS on Thursday night was a wonderful, exulting happening in which B and I were proud to take part. We went outside and heard the wave of clapping, cheers, banging saucepans and ringing bells sweep towards us. It was thrilling to join in, clapping and calling across the road to neighbours.

Welcome to my work journal - a weekly update on drawings, work in progress, doodles and day-dreaming.
I changed the website address a few months ago, so some older links on previous posts are broken. If you click one of those and it takes you to a strange page, simply replace the .co.uk after the heatherelizawalker. with weebly.com and it will work again. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

As well as the work you see here, I illustrate under the name of Binky McKee (my mother's maiden name was McKee, Binky was every single one of my great grandmother's many cats!)
If you would like to visit my Binky website, please click the picture above. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Dissolving PeopleA symbol on the footpath outside a local primary school gradually disappearing as the image breaks up and wears away until eventually it is obliterated by leaves and barely discernible. Photographed at intervals of several months between February 2021 and November 2022, oldest at the top.
(My shoes look so new in the first pic, and note the transition to new phone in the last photo). <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
