Remember those carrot tops I was drawing on 6 June? Well, here they are now! They grew root-like tendrils from the eyes on the stumps, so I planted them in a pot the other day and they are now 23cm tall. I'm not sure what the two triffidy bits at the top are going to be, in my dreams they'll produce gorgeous big umbels like the ones below! Photo: allotment-gardening.org In spite of having received some beautiful paper a little while ago after testing samples in May, I haven't got around to beginning any new work. Truth be told, I have hardly stopped shaking since the shock of my brother's death and wobbly hands don't help my drawing practice. It seems to be improving now to the extent that I no longer think I will have to change my drawing style to match (although the appeal of nervous, wobbly lines is strong) and I think maybe this coming week I might overcome the phobia of a blank surface and begin a new work. Maybe I'll start with something which doesn't mind the odd bout of shaking ...

Welcome to my work journal - a weekly update on drawings, work in progress, doodles and day-dreaming.
I changed the website address a few months ago, so some older links on previous posts are broken. If you click one of those and it takes you to a strange page, simply replace the .co.uk after the heatherelizawalker. with weebly.com and it will work again. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

As well as the work you see here, I illustrate under the name of Binky McKee (my mother's maiden name was McKee, Binky was every single one of my great grandmother's many cats!)
If you would like to visit my Binky website, please click the picture above. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Dissolving PeopleA symbol on the footpath outside a local primary school gradually disappearing as the image breaks up and wears away until eventually it is obliterated by leaves and barely discernible. Photographed at intervals of several months between February 2021 and November 2022, oldest at the top.
(My shoes look so new in the first pic, and note the transition to new phone in the last photo). <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
